This question’s is tricky! Back in the day, I’d have rattled off a list. But now, with a few more wrinkles and a bit more wisdom, I’d say, In the grand scheme overall picture “NOTHING.” What once seemed like sacrifices now feel like blessings revealed.
I have left behind homes, left jobs to accommodate situations, rearranged finances, and I have no regrets! Reflecting on it all, I’ve realized that every change I made has benefited others and myself, and that makes me happy. It hasn’t always been easy, and I may have grumbled a bit, but now I can express gratitude. I acknowledge that I’m no saint and I’ve come to understand that I was guided by the only source of goodness I know, and I finally grasped this as an adult. I don’t see it as sacrifice; instead, I see it as gain, which took me years to recognize and I thank the Lord, for working through me long before I even knew Him. He truly deserves all the glory for any good that a person sees from me.
