Memorizing scripture is a tool to battle our enemy. Jesus memorized scripture when He encountered Satan after fasting 40 days and was hungry; Satan tempted Him to turn a rock into bread and Jesus said it is written man shall not live by bread alone but every word that proceeds from the mouth.
If Jesus memorized scripture, it’s the example of how important it really is. We start by praying and asking God to reveal what He is speaking to you through his Word and as you read be mindful of what stands out and take note. Finally meditate on these passages and you will find faced with adversity you’ll recall the Verses spoken relevant to the fight and there’s the armor needed to fight the enemy!
